“When do you most feel TBK’s history?”

I make a point of talking with people on the shop floor. When I hear from veteran production-line professionals and see the know-how they’ve accumulated over the years, I really feel TBK’s heritage.

“When do you most feel TBK’s newness?”

We’ve been pushing mobile adoption for the past few years. At first there was a lot of resistance, but recently the pace of acceptance has accelerated dramatically. People are proactive about trying new tools and ways of working—that change has been striking.
I want TBK to keep taking on new challenges as a company: putting new ideas into practice, using them to drive change, and building the kind of momentum that moves the whole organization forward.

“When do you most feel TBK’s history?”

Some of the machines on our floor have been running since before I was born. When I look into who built them and see the names of leaders and pioneers from the days of Tokyo Seiko (now TBK), I feel the weight of that history.

“When do you most feel TBK’s newness?”

Our department usually writes the equipment specifications and outsources the build. Recently, we proposed doing it ourselves—and built a press capable of handling loads up to two metric tons. We handled everything in-house, from design to electrical wiring. We decided to g o for it, and when the project succeeded, it boosted everyone’s confidence—my team’s and my own.

“When do you most feel TBK’s history?”

When I look at how far TBK has grown, I’m reminded that it was built through many chapters—and plenty of hard work. At Second Plant, not just in our section, there’s a strong sense of unity and lateral connection. Whether it’s quality, safety, or productivity, a single call brings other departments together to push toward one goal: continuous improvement.

“When do you most feel TBK’s newness?”

We’re driving IT adoption and digital transformation, and it’s helping us in many ways. Work that once relied on the human eye is being digitized—for example, we’ve introduced AI-enabled equipment that reduces dependence on manual inspection. For quality checks, data is en tered and managed digitally, so supervisors can access the real numbers anytime, anywhere.
Lately, that capability has advanced dramatically.

I want us to be a globally recognized force for good—an innovator that addresses social challenges and makes everyday life easier. By delivering on that vision, I hope our brand becomes widely known and trusted worldwide.
